Allen C. Haskell Garden
One of my favorite places to disappear to, since I am not to much of a fan of my hometown. Which is this garden thats located in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Anyways the Garden was created by Mr. Haskell he is a local horticulturist and is open to the public as of today, They are also working on it and removed the greenhouses. I loved the greenhouse but still excited to see whats new.
Wild Heart Herb House
Right at the entrance sits this magical herbal shop, which feels like such hidden gem. They have Teas, Herbal blends, and handmade goodies plus the inside is beautiful.
The red spikey plant with the teeth is another hybrid, it is mostlikely an ornamental aloe cultivar. This one was rough to the touch obviously.
I can show so many weird little alien plants but here are my favorite finds.
LOOK AT THIS, this magenta-star shaped, blue berry in the middle is something i have never seen something like this before. Apparently its called a Harlequin Glory bower. See now this one seems like its not even from this planet to me.
Then these plants right here SMELL LIKE COTTON CANDY in the fall.... seriously too!
this image reads:
WEEPING KATSURA TREE
Cercidiphylum japoniçum "Pendulumi"
Allen C. Haskell acquired this Weeping Katsura from Iselis Nursery, in Orego This deciduous tree initially has a pyramid form and later becomes rounded.
Heart-shaped, blue green leaves grow, on stiff, slender pendulous branches that fan out and sweep the ground Tiny red flowers emerge in late March or early April before the leaves. Caramel-scented foliage, starts out bronze or purple red, turns blue-green, then fades to gold or apricot in autumn. Some say the foliage smells o cotton candy in the fall.
Im so excited to share more of my finds, i could go on forever put I will post more of this garden and many more things I would like to share💖.
So beautiful can’t wait to see next!
